I am a discouraged conservative married (spouse is retired AF) mother of three, including an Iraq Army Vet. I had the same teacher in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades (in what is now the most depressed state in the country) I was not happy about it at the time because she was tough. I learned alot from her, but what stands out the most for me these last few months is how often she expressed that we were living in the best country in the world. The greatest nation ever. I believed her-the things we learned about the world convinced me how lucky I was to have been born here. I was taught more about the history of our country in those three grades than a kid in Florida public school system gets from 1st to 12th. I do not like the slope we are being pushed down. It is nice to know I am not alone.
