I am the widowed mother of three adult children and lurked almost from the beginning of FR (back when Drudge was still cross-linked and Trixie was a poster here) before the big brouhahas. Finally joined after 9/11 but had to get a new screenname a few years ago. The past few years, I have been thoroughly disgusted by the unnecessary sarcasm of many of the posters and the resulting flame wars. Consequently, I only post when I feel really strongly about something. In spite of that, FR has gotten me through the unexpected death of my husband in 1999, 9/11, both deployments of my son to a war zone and the death of my baby granddaughter. For almost 10 years, I have religiously checked FR off and on night and day. It is my main (and only trusted) source of news since FoxNews has turned into "entertainment news."

As evidenced by my name, I am the proud mother of a United States Marine Gunnery Sgt. who has served twice in Iraq so far. He is an air traffic controller, presently serving in Iwakuni, Japan. I am SO very proud of him and his fellow Marines..
