North Dakota has 3 electoral votes and they could be important in a close election.

I saw Burgum on TV several times when he was still in the race and he seemed impressive. Whether he has some negatives, I don't know. But unlike some of the names bandied about, I don't think he would cost Trump votes, or make Congress eager to get rid of Trump via impeachment & conviction.

North Dakota has been carried by the Republican Presidential candidate in every election since 1968. In 2020, Trump carried this state by a greater than two to one margin. Being a billionaire would provide the Republican ticket with important financial support, as Trump's finances are tied up with fighting Democratic lawfare.
