CHICAGO (CBS) -- Monday was the first day of a bizarre trial involving a woman who investigators said attacked a Chicago Police officer, stole his sport-utility vehicle, and dragged him with it – all while she was naked. CBS 2 discovered the woman, Whitley Temple, was hired by the City of Chicago while awaiting trial. It has been nearly two years since the incident, and CBS 2 learned that in that time, Temple briefly worked for the City of Chicago's Department of Family and Support Services as a lead accountant. The city has declined to comment on her hiring. On...

  • Vanity Post About "Fake" Electors

    06/01/2024 6:38:54 PM PDT · by sunny bonobo · 3 replies
If this vanity post is not in the right place, please do with it as you please. I am in a conversation with a liberal on the chat forums of Revolver News. It wasn't the original topic but he claimed the alternate electors in GA, etc, were fake electors cause they signed statements saying they were the true electors. Does anyone have links to articles about the couple times in the past alternates were used so I can compare the statements they signed vs Trump's. Or if not, do you know the cases so I can look it up? Thanks

Retired Army Col. Karl Nell claims nonhuman intelligence not only exists and has been to Earth but has been actively interacting with humanity. Nell made the statement during a live chat at the SALT iConnections conference, which is billed as a conference for “disruptive innovation” in finance and geopolitics. Nell cited his previous experience on the Pentagon’s UFO/UAP task force while making the claim. He has previously suggested the government has agreed to hold back top-secret information for some time and suggested that failing to disclose it would be “catastrophic.” Nell said the interactions between nonhuman intelligence and humanity is...

Severe weather will focus across the High Plains into Saturday night before expanding to the Upper Midwest by later Sunday, then reload over the High Plains and Rockies and advance into the Midwest again next week. AccuWeather meteorologists warn that more storms packing tornadoes and big hail will continue to pose risks to lives and property. Areas of severe thunderstorms will shift back and forth from near the Rocky Mountains to the Mississippi River into next week. May typically brings a strong surge in severe weather across the United States. However, storm activity this past month has propelled the tally...

The fire was reported around 2 a.m. on Rinaldi Street near Haskell Avenue. Firefighters found flames engulfing a Mercedez-Benz, which proved to be difficult to put out. The electrical nature of the fire made it so intense that firefighters requested additional resources, Stringer News Service KNN reported. Flames from the burning vehicle spread to a nearby home and burned some power lines in the area. It was unclear if power was affected at any of...

MALDEN — Asian American seniors play ping pong five times a week at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist church. Another group gathers Monday nights to dance at the Wah Lum Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy. After years spent fitting in where they can across this city of 65,000, the growing Asian American community has no place to call their own. That’s about to change with $1 million in funding from Congress to jumpstart the process of creating Malden’s first community center for people of Asian descent, who account for 27.5 percent of the city’s population. Malden has the third-highest...

Months after the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos had the same legal status as children, the nation’s largest Protestant denomination is set to vote on whether to take a stand against in vitro fertilization. Alabama Chief Justice Tom Parker cited verses from the Bible and Christian theologians in his Feb. 16 concurring opinion that sparked national debate and left lawmakers scrambling to keep the state’s in vitro fertilization clinics running. Parker argued that the court was merely enforcing a principle that has “deep roots that reach back to the creation of man ‘in the image of God,’” Parker...

A kangaroo court is an unauthorized, unofficial court, the sole purpose of which is to provide the image of a fair legal process. In actuality, the fate of the accused is actually decided in advance, with no consideration being made as to the fairness of the situation. Kangaroo courts are typically associated with groups that practice their own brand of justice, which is outside of the formal judicial process. To explore this concept, consider the following kangaroo court definition

I am not interested in talking about the vaxxes. Just in the incidence of pc. We are far enough flung that it might be interesting. Your experience? Anyone else?

Marion Maréchal is the head of the Reconquête Party list for the 2024 European elections. For some time, she has been a shining star on the French political Right. Maréchal tells The European Conservative what she hopes will be the new politics of Europe—one that will help salvage French—and Western—civilisation. * Your support for Éric Zemmour and the Reconquête party at the height of the presidential campaign elicited a lot of commentary. In hindsight, how do you assess that decision today? "My decision to join Éric Zemmour was guided above all by the accordance of my political views with his....

At this point it looks like most of our protein will be sourced from animals for some time to come, whether we like it or not, as it has for the past 100,000 years. Luckily, we can do this in ways that meet our climate goals and boost nutrition and animal welfare, Eurof Uppington writes. 2021 saw a strange and short-lived celebrity phenomenon. Out of nowhere, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr, Katy Perry, Serena Williams and other A-listers announced personal investments in plant-based foodtech startups alongside venture capital funds and philanthropists. There was some amusement as well as surprise when somebody walked into Helsinki’s Oodi Central Library on Monday 27 with a book that was overdue. 84 years overdue It’s not unusual to be a little delayed in returning a library book but this one was unusual in as much as it was due back on December 26, 1939 making it just over 84 years late! The person who returned it isn’t the person who first took out the book The Refugees (Pakolaiset in Finnish) by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and it is not known whether there was a fine and...
