With this administration I don’t trust them on any national emergency exercise. They always have something else in mind other than what they state.
Wow...thanks! BTW, my next novel (unrelated to the enemies trilogy) is almost finished.
Heavy equipment deep underground, digging the regime's final retreat hidey-hole for 12/21/2012?

.
They say that even here in SE Iowa that an 8.0 in the Madrid would drop buildings here.
I know we Mormons are not overly popular with some Freepers, but we’re not all Romneybots, and we do have some good information available at http://www.providentliving.org/channel/0,11677,8033-1,00.html .
I have no problems with Mormons and I thank you for the information.
Hard to fly low with one’s name on lots of books, but I do try! Thanks!

We had a 4.3 in October, right down the road from me. I live East of OKC.
It's the stuff legends are made of. On this day [December 16] 199 years ago, the first in a series of catastrophic earthquakes rocked the Midwest along the New Madrid seismic zone. Although the epicenter of the December 16th quake was in northeast Arkansas, the magnitude of the quake reportedly caused church bells to ring along the East coast. Thanks FromLori!

Get out of the Midwest as fast as possible.
It's time to leave.
I remember seeing a show about being in a high rise in Downtown SF during an earthquake. The conclusion was that it was better to be in the building rather than being outside below the building. The building would stand but you would be buried under 10ft of glass if you were standing outside.
An 8.0 will devastate the entire Midwest
Yeah, but the ride that high up during the quake - yow!
Just use a saddle for an office chair.
"Our bedrock here is old, really rigid and sends those waves a long way," Bob Bauer, a geologist with the Illinois State Geological Survey, told the AP. Bauer equated the Midwest bedrock, which lies from a few feet to a few thousand feet below the earths surface, to a smooth bell that transmits seismic waves like sound. "California is young bedrock," he explained, "It's broken up ... like a cracked bell. You ring that, the waves don't go as far."

I seem to recall that one of the eyewitness accounts of the great New Madrid quake said the land looked like someone shook a blanket.
