Soros is a bugaboo -- however, he had shorted Deutsche Bank, and look at that one tumble. Fund managers and the high rollers can't willy-nilly move out and back into their long positions, and they don't have ESP, so ahead of the Brexit vote, they tried to cover themselves regardless of the outcome. The UK £ and the EU € have both cratered since the vote.

Gas has always been pricier in Europe. My impression is that the gap isn’t as big with US prices as it was say 30 years ago.
