“I like the idea, but the reality the gulag survivors endured would never be possible under our laws, or socially acceptable, and if even suggested would not be believed.”
Although there might be ways around the legal aspects, like filming in Romania or Bulgaria or an island somewhere, it would raise the costs prohibitively.
Socially acceptable?
Look at what is on tv every week.
The homo lifestyle, blended “families” that are two poofters adopting a child, a show celebrating Lucifer Morningstar (Satan) as a misunderstood angel mad at Dad (God) because Dad doesn’t understand him. And the so called “Christmas specials” that are a celebration of the thug/celebrity life.
Maybe not PC but there is little that is socially unacceptable these days.
Would Not Be Believed is the winner.
The academics, political elites and Hollywood crowd would poo poo it and rail that a false history was being invented.
Society as a whole wouldn’t believe it because the liberals have denied such things since the Russian revolution. A NYT writer won awards for denying the starvation in Russia.
Society wouldn’t believe it because everyone still has their latest IPhone, fitbit, Obamaphone and their daily MSM propaganda.
It has never touched their lives therefore it is not real.
The movies you mentioned will never be shown in public schools because the socialists control the curriculum and will never show anything that casts their beloved workers paradise in a bad light.
Thanks for the links.
I will be watching those at the library over the next weeks. The library has great free Wi-Fi.
