Rush discussed this as well. It took Lincoln 3 YEARS to finally find the general(s) he needed to save the union.
In addition to this subject Rush discussed the difference between now and the 60’s. In the ‘60s the mayors and governors were trying to quell the violence and they were being overwhelmed and couldn’t. They wanted the military to come and put down the violence.
Today this is not the case the Blue state Gov’s and mayors are supporting the violence in their cities and states. They are telling the president to stay away.
So, Trump’s response is fine. But, he will protect Federal Properties and the perps will face long term prison sentences.
And, with this possibility and a strong security presence, the Marxists have not tried to attack statues on federal property in DC since.
Just today the FBI published a wanted poster with some Marxists pics on it and more are coming.

As retired Navy i support your statement and the action you describe. Are there any real Flag officer’s left with the honor to do so? I wonder.

More and more my attitude is that this country doesn’t deserve Trump.

“Did Limbaugh say on what he based this assumption?”

He did not.

I picked up on that, too. Scary. Then it falls to well-regulated militias in local areas.

No one is more measured than Rush, and for him to say this suggests that we are in deep, deep trouble.

Here's a more direct link to the commentary on foxnews.com, as opposed to going through RCP.

Trump’s biggest mistake is not arresting ANYONE for the crimes that the obama’s and clintons and Biden’s, Pelosi’s, Feinstein’s etc are involved with.

The two situations are not even close.
You may want to read up on the French Revolution.

“Today Rush said that DJT isn’t completely confident that the military will obey his orders regarding these domestic riots.”

Rush didn’t get to the starting point. From the article’s headline:

“Americans Feel Undefended And Neglected, Expect A President To Respond To A Crisis”

Trump’s situation begins with the fact that not enough Americans have responded. It’s too soon for Trump to use highly visible force and he might not need to at all.

Because defunding police departments, tearing down statues, renaming universities and other institutions, banning words like Aunt Jemima, taking over sections of cities ... these things are wacky and many, many citizens certainly know that, and they must certainly also know that Joe Biden is very weak politically and mentally. Mind you, I don’t hold the effects of age against a person, but the leader of our nation needs a strong mind.

What more is Trump expected to do? He calls in the military and the left get their “Kent State moment”. No good. He has offered help to the states in turmoil, but they refuse. It is up to the governors to call in reinforcements (National Guard). Of course, Trump gets the blame no matter what he does. If our side had the organization their side has then perhaps enough of us could meet them out there and settle it the old fashioned way.

Rambling post. Sorry...

He’s already let the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs oppose him publicly on the issue of using the military in the case of some of the riots (on federal property, even). Obama did a huge amount of damage to the military and it is probably full of high ranking people who just won’t accept Trump’s orders.

Not to mention his own defense secretary today announcing that their priority now was launching a new “diversity” program.

Trump has been under attack from all sides since he took office, but the hardest thing is that many of the attacks have come from within the administration.

Totally agree with your post.

Let us see if the Democrats really nominate Biden—and then keep him as their nominee until October.

The President should not make his major PR push against Biden until it is too late for the Democrats to do anything about it.

So, Tucker, what is Trump supposed to do when liberal idiots vote for a local government that defunds the police department (like they did in Minneapolis today)?

Tucker should run for president. If he thinks he can do a better job. What’s his resume look like?

Trump has learned the hard way that tough talk has to be backed up or extreme weakness is the result.

...”Today Rush said that DJT isn’t completely confident that the military will obey his orders regarding these domestic riots. If that is true, the coup has succeeded.”...

James Mattis was the one who excoriated President Trump and set the tone. Sure looks like a coup. Sad times ahead for America. Two books that everyone should find and read are "Robespierre", by Otto Scott, about the French Revolution and "Life and Death in Shanghai," by Nien Cheng, who tells the story of her imprisonment during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Her gripping story and the story of the French Revolution will parallel much of what we have seen happen in our country for the past month. If you are a person who knows the history of the world, you have to be very concerned that all of this is taking place here. I feel very sad for the ignorant young people, who know not what they do. They are puppets of an organization which is using them to try and foment power. They might succeed but it will not end well for this nation.
