I am hyper-allergic to cats. If I pet a cat and touch my face I get conjunctivitis within minutes.

My wife had a cat when we got together. I liked Alice. I just made it a point to never, ever touch her. Only got conjunctivitis a couple times a month. :)

If you have allergies you need to keep the cat shaved and bathe it daily.

Siberian Forest cat produces less of the protein that cause pet allergies.
While no cat is hypoallergenic, Siberian Forest Cats are the closest. My wife is very allergic but no problems with our Siberian Forest cat. Also the best temperament of any cat I have ever been around.

The allergy is a psychosomatic thing. See a shrink.

I had a Norwegian Forest Cat who died a year go and I still miss him very much. Is Siberian Forest Cat a similar breed? I have never heard of that breed, is it new?

My wife loves cats. I’m allergic to them. Guess who she loves more? It ain’t the cats.

I’m allergic but did not discover it until we already had a couple and family was very attached to them. I did the shots for a while but weaned myself off of those. I take a Zyrtec every night (but it’s not just for cats). I seem to have no issues with the one that doesn’t shed much, and a few problems if I let the one that sheds a lot get up in my face. Keeping our bedroom door helps a lot. If he’s not severe, and you get a cat that doesn’t shed much, he might be fine.

Yes, it’s possible. Not sure how advisable it is. Only your doctor knows.

I did it for 20 years. My symptoms were a little different than most, coughing rather than runny nose and sneezing. Seem to have gotten through it okay.

Get a chihuahua and train him/her to use a littler box. We did with Bambi. It is easier to train a female chihuahua to a box that a male.

There are other pets.

How about a bird? Maybe a ferret?

Depends on how allergic.
My brother in law is allergic but he refuses to give up his chonker kitty.
She sits with him in his recliner watching tv.
He gets injections for allergies but I don’t know what they are.
So yes...but there are caveats depending on the severity of the allergy.

I had Tegu Lizards.
Get them small and handle
Them gently.Great fun making a terrarium with a
Little tank for Gold Fish.
Of course Tegus eat those
and Anything else.
A Cat might even be a meal.

If you love your husband, DO NOT get a cat.

If you DO NOT love your husband, get the cat.

Oh I sure wish you all the luck in the world finding a furbaby you can live with.

Being without a pet feels so lonely sometimes.

Well, think of how many years you’ve spent with your husband?

If he ends up being allergic and the changes mentioned by others doesn’t help, he’s had his fair share of time and it’s time to move on :)

Do you have a shed? The hubby could live out there :)

IF worse comes to worse, you’ll just have to return it. Do you remember where you got your husband? :)

I have a little cat buddy. What a life he has.

Seriously, I hope all the suggestions help and I bet if you get one, things will work out.
