Teachers have a very skewed perspective of their role. They seem to think that they are the ones in charge of the schools, and not just employees hired to teach there.

Dentists are like that, too.

re: Teacher meetings

I have never been to a parent-teacher meeting that hasn’t been a **complete** waste** of **time**!

It’s like peeing in the ocean hoping to warm it up.

They’ll be call domestic terrorists; how dare they challenge the school board who knows better than parents on how to educate their children.

Re: Dentists and other health professionals

The government isn’t holding a gun to your head forcing you to go to them or forcing you to pay so others are forced to go to them.

Try not paying your property taxes ( school taxes) and see what happens.

Remember. Behind every government teacher stand **armed** police.

They’re the ones that want the state to take their children.

OK, dentists are slightly lower on the rung: optometrists and dentists will be spies, but as for the rest . . . you'll take the jab or else. I've seen the pictures.

For some reason power abhors criticism.

Back in the mid-90s when I told the superintendent of schools for Polk County Florida that his job was to assist us in educating our child, not the other way around, he was speechless.

Long story, but I eventually beat the bastards running the educational system. It was not easy. And at times I felt like I must be on acid based on the crap these people were telling me.

They want to see the syllabus and curriculum that’s fine. That’s what Back to School night is for. If a parent wants to have a meet , fine. Absolutely no problem. But see my daily lesson plans...he’ll sometimes I didn’t show them to my supervisor. A parent ought to be following what their kid brings home each night or at least each week. Do that and if you have a Q, we’ll meet.

I might be able to say “propaganda” if only I hadn’t attended public school. (It is joke, comrade! I went to catholic/private school through grade 8.)

Lowered standards for students? In NY, teachers don’t have to prove they can read and write.

Thanks to the teachers obstinacy on shutting down their schools and insisting on online schooling, parents have learned how easy it is to video class room lessons. I think all classes should be zoomed so sick or home bound students can keep up. A BIG PLUS would be the ability of parents to monitor their kids teachers conduct and course content. If it was good enough for covid - it should be good enough for the post covid world. Karma can be a bitch
