The split between internationalist socialists and national socialists began just before the turn of the 20th Century.
In Europe, the IS aligned with communism, and the NS aligned with fascism. In the US, the IS supported Woodrow Wilson, and the NS supported Teddy Roosevelt.
In both Europe and the US, the vast majority were moderates who didn’t align with any form of socialism.
But in both places, “If you do not support us, you are our enemies!” was used by both communists and Nazis against moderates who opposed their radical ideas.
So to this day, IS-oriented socialists call non-socialists “Nazis” and “fascists”. The NS do not exist in any appreciable numbers.

Ironically, Stalin was the ultimate “National Socialist”, he rejected Lenin and Trotsky’s internationalism for “Socialism in One Country”, and imposed Russian supremacy over the rest of the Soviet Union.

Worker’s “self management” never seemed to happen in the various “Soviets” beginning in the Kerensky Dumas which the Bolshies took over with... violence. The “workers paradise” disappeared with that, and of course Stalinism perfected and destroyed whatever had been built to the point he took over
The puritan Commies say Stalin destroyed Lenin’s purist vision—for what that is worth. Power— all it ever was.

It would appear that Biden has made a very careful and thorough study of the James Buchanan and Woodrow Wilson administrations and has sought to implement the worst of both of them.
Well gee fjb.....if “everyone I hate is hitler” is OK for one side, it’s OK for the other too. Only folks who understand the difference between socialism, fascism, nazism and pure communism will understand the proverbial “writing on the wall” in the face of the liberal line blurring that is prevalent today. And still— Communism fails because it fails human nature, and the Natural Laws that all seek Freedom. As our Founders studied, wrote, and codified in our Constitution.
