My guess is there is no one being hired by the Federal government right now. I think a huge percentage of federal workers have been furloughed. They sure aren’t in Washington DC. Nobody will even miss them because they weren’t necessary anyway.
McCarthy was able to remove $1.9B from the $80B funding (over multiple years). The important aspect is that the $1.9B represented ALL of the current year funding (100%). Sounds like to good negotiating move. He will simply defund the increase each year, if we maintain House control.
They can claim a talking point, but McCarthy won this round BIG.
Hear to stay? Not in this budget. Next Budget is fair game.. Next President is fair game.
We take too many transitory things as if they are permanent and thus they beome peranent.
So what’s new about this?
The GOP has a long history of “promises” ignored...
Even when they had control of the WH, Senate, and House...
