In my view, we cannot afford to let the de-moKKKer-Rats have this issue. The problem is the combination of compound interest and the sweetheart deal the banks have by which nobody can ever declare bankruptcy over student loans.

A reasonable solution would allow borrowers who had paid as much as the original principle of a loan to declare bankruptcy if that was the only out; for a lot of them, it is.
