Having literally anyone to do these repairs seems better than the management’s efforts.
Unfortunately, Chuck is sick again. He seems to be having a lot of difficulty with heart/lung problems lately, so I’ll have to try and arrange for someone to come and do the work that he hasn’t done.
I can’t just wait for Chuck. I’ve been here almost a year and I’m still waiting for my back storm door and for the light over my sink. There are other things that I can do myself, but I want the big things done.
Jim said if Chuck will order the right blinds for the bedroom, he’ll put them up for me, so I have a handy friend! I don’t want to deluge him with too much too soon, but I also understand that he will expect to be paid. However, if I can get the back storm door, he will put it up. Again, whatever I ask him to do, I’ll also have to ask how much he wants in addition to supplies.
But just knowing that he’s healthy and willing is a big hurdle to overcome!
Yes, if it takes a little money to get the stuff done, that’s better than its not being done. It’s too bad that Chuck’s health is poor, but the landlord owes the tenants the maintenance, even if they have to hire a separate crew.
He should have had a small crew hired when he had his first heart attack three years ago. But I can’t wait for him to return to health, and it seems I’m not having any luck of any kind, trying to find someone to do his handyman jobs. I don’t know how far Jim is willing to go to help me, but I’m sure if he’s paid a little something, it will be incentive.
And the good thing is, he’s as proud of his good work as FS is to put his name on his handyman jobs. I can’t look for better work ethics than that!
And PS: It feels as though the unit in the bedroom is cooling off the living room, thanks to the box fan! I’ll let it run for a while longer, then shut it off. I don’t need it just yet, but this is a test of the efficiency of both units.

Good morning. I hope you had an enjoyable evening and that the concert was all you expected.
I seem to have lost the genealogical files I was working on, and that irritates me. It means that I will have to start at the beginning and re-enter all 4000+ names, including the new family lines that have been found. All this, of course, is not going to happen if I can find the files I thought I saved. I just have to figure out how to access it. Them.
Right now, I’m going to go take a shower. Maybe I’ll feel better when I’m clean!
And Chip is off his feed again.
Good morning. The band was good, the sound quality was okay - couldn’t understand any lyrics, but the instruments came across well - and we had to stand. But we had a nice time and got home before 11:00.
Maybe Chip just eats erratically, and that’s going to be a thing.

I’ve gotten to where I don’t expect Chip to eat all his food all the time, especially since I’m getting used to FIV and how it affects him. I think I understand why no one wanted him. But that just makes him all the more loveable to me!
The alarm rang way too early this morning, and I really wish I hadn’t had to get up. But maybe sitting in front of the little kitchen fan will help dry my hair faster and it will look half decent by the time I leave for church.
Yes, a hill is great to avoid flooding, but it doesn’t do much for high winds, hail storms, lightening strikes, tornadoes, or even a hurricane now and then!

That’s what I say about James ;-).
It’s cloudy and cool and breezy here, but not raining. I need to get ready for church, so I can be ready to jump when we hear what time Kathleen will be back from camp. The ideal would be that James would drive me over to the Scout Hut, then James would take Kathleen home in the Avalon, while I get the van from the Scouts and go to church from there.
But who knows. If this doesn’t work out, someone can drive me up to the Scout hut tonight or tomorrow to get the van.
I’m ready for church, now, and was able to listen to one uplifting talk before I had to get ready. Usually, I have only time to listen to half a talk, and then feel rushed when it’s time to get ready.
I’ll turn the A/Cs on when I get home so they can begin cooling off the place for bedtime.
I put on a denim skirt I bought when I was in Del Rio, and it doesn’t want to stay up! LOL! Maybe I’ll had to add some elastic to it to try and help it a bit. It’s a favorite, and I hate to retire it!

LOL! I hadn’t even thought of safety pins, but I sure will! I went to church feeling rather anticipatory this morning and it lasted until I got home and could take the skirt off!
I’ve been trying to check flights and ticket costs to CO, but it’s as hard as pulling hen’s teeth. I don’t even know if the doc will let me fly, so there is that! If not, then FS is just going to have to suck up his no-fly policy and come to visit his mum. The same thing with FD and her autistic hubby.
I never thought I’d see the day that both kids would balk at flying, but there we are!
It’s funny how they expect so much more from you than from themselves.
I’m making all these plans, but the doctor may see things differently. I’ll find out this week.
It’s 72° out, now, but the day’s high won’t even reach 85°.
I’m going to get dressed, then go wash clothes, then come back and try to take a nap.
Chip ate all his food last night. He left a little pile of dry cat food by his dish — maybe 5-6 pieces. They may have been harder than the others, and with half of his teeth gone, they may have been more than he could handle. He’s done that before.
Are you guys going to do any more Wordle Golf?
I keep waiting for the new golf course to pop up on my feed, but it’s not happening. It’s very fun to watch, for sure.
