I lived on Kathy Lane, just a stone’s throw from 441..........
I think there was a similar incident in Las Vegas. The victim died helping out another student. I believe in that case; a perp claimed the second student assulted him first when intervening.
As you recall, in the Parkview shooting, the shooter had numerous run-ins with the school and should have been expelled but it was difficult because he was a member of a protected class. It would have made the expelled statistics appear biased if too many of the protected class were expelled.
I lived in Coral Bay, which was built in 1992 (right in the middle of Hurricane Andrew). It was on the corner of Sample Road and 441.
That was a vacant lot covered in scrub bush and swamp in 1979..................

When I went to Real Estate school I learned that putting cows on a tract of land lowered your taxes. So there were ten cows (the legal minimum for the acreage) who munched on the weeds all day and did their job lowering taxes. LOL.

I spent my late teenage years in Margate, and before that, in Lauderhill. We relocated due to the high cost of living. Recently, I’ve heard that Margate and Lauderhill have become less safe.
During my time living in Lauderhill:
I recall my days commuting by bus to the prison called Everglades middle school, where I was one of the very few white students in a predominantly black school (99%). Security checks for weapons were conducted upon entering the school. During lunch and transitions between classes, I had to be vigilant against unexpected punches.
I found myself involved in fights every other day during my time in that hell hole. I have been beaten down so many times, I learned to throw the first punch and use any available weapon (chair, stick, bat) to defend myself. The most racist people I have every meet in my lifetime live in Broward County. I will never move back. No PSD here.
I was about a block from 441 on SouthGate.

Self defense is not mobbing someone with 5 guys and nearly killing him because he took a swing at you.
There used to be a bagel restaurant right on 441 near there that I would eat at regularly................
