The only reason they send JAG officers to battlefields is to deal with disciplinary charges, and those like DeSantis who were attached to a SEAL Team as an advisor. They are only there to make sure to lecture our troops on the rules of engagement, so they don’t do anything offensive to our enemies, that might bring $hit down on the higher-ups. When the U.S. military decided they were going to send lawyers to battle zones, this country lost the ability to ever win another war.

I will point out though, that between the World Wars, many Americans did think that we had been suckered into WWI. Many veterans of that war thought that too.

The problem is you can’t remove the ability to criticize people just because they happen to have been in the military. Playing the above reproach “military card” is on par with playing the “race card” when you criticize someone.

Actually, I do believe the good angels tell us stuff we need to know that help us, which we should want to hear. I’m open to all the help and advice I can get from them.
The demonic ones will lie and tell you everything they can to lead you astray and harm you. The trick is to be aware enough to be able to tell the difference. I think that comes with age and experience.

I’m a veteran but not everybody I served with was a great person, in fact some of them were just there to take advantage and openly admitted it.
Being a veteran doesn’t give any politician automatic sainthood.

I think Biden is kept on a tight leash. Un-drugged, he would be a dictator, as you say. As he is, he is wild enough that he gives good cover to those who hold the leash.
Think of it. If you encounter someone who has a pretty viciously behaving dog at the end of a leash - if they appear to be unable to control it, you are scared of BOTH and cut them a wide circle.

I myself have known a lot of plumbers. Not all of them are great people. However, whatever their faults, I am happy when they fix my plumbing. I wouldn’t say of somebody who was a plumber and while trying to fix somebody’s plumbing was badly injured, “I prefer a winner.” I wouldn’t call a plumber who lost an eye fixing people’s plumbing, eyepatch. And, I wouldn’t call a plumber of Italian background a meatball, nor a short plumber high heels.
But, we had a president who essentially did this. His name was Obama. He said to a small business person “You didn’t build that.”
We are heading into our third election in a row in which majorities (different majorities) feel each of the major party candidates is bad, and where people who think both are bad will decide the election.
How about the Italian-American card? Is it o.k. to refer to an Italian-American as a meatball?
