Just because the media doesn't report everything, does mean we have to believe everything somebody's cousin's girlfriend's babysitter's hairdresser thought they heard someone say. People want to know the truth, but in these situations there tend to be a lot of rumors that later prove to be exaggerated or even false.

Some people are pretty good filters. I like to think my track record isn't too bad. We all have to piece together bits of information we receive and form our own picture for this or any story. It should be obvious that we cannot depend upon the MSM for an honest picture of anything that is not a sports event. (Why they seem to cover these honestly is a topic for another day.) While you are forming your own picture, I suggest you look at the one posted in #45 on this thread and ask yourself whether you recall any such similar pictures from 9/11, Hurricane Andrew, or other disasters where large numbers of people were affected.
