Well said.

On that note, it was nice to see Mel Gibson laugh all the way to the bank!

That's what I was going to say - it was written by one of Hillary's people - and I think people were curious. It actually wasn't bad .. but that's how they do it .. they start out where people are comfortable and over time they warp into something else.

The final speech was amazing. I could never imagine Hillary saying such things .. and even if she did .. I'm confident I wouldn't believe she meant what she was saying.

We will see how popular it is after several weeks. ABC hyped the show for weeks including putting Geena Davis on Monday Night Football. It is not hard to understand that the show's debut would attract viewers. Now comes the hard part--keeping them interested.

I'm hoping Heather Locklier does a guest appearance on this show (she could be a senator or something) and we have some hot girl-on-girl action!

Or, or how about there is a crisis in Sweden and the female president must confer with the Swedish bikini team! That would be great!

Man, this show is gonna be AWSOME!!

I haven't watched ABC< CBS or NBC for so long, my TV doesn't even stop there

LOL I gave up on ABC, CBS, and NBC a long time ago. I did enjoy "Everyone Loves Raymond" but that was the only show that I tried to catch now and then. However, my sons (grown and on their own now) told me I should watch, "House". Not sure which channel it's on. I watched a few episodes last season, and they called me last night to remind me that it was on again. I watched it last night and admit I did enjoy it.

ABC dumped a fortune on this POS- billboards, etc. Say, didn't Ladybird Johnson ban billboards?

"the titular White House honcho"

Can you even say that on television?

Remember this, the best way to kill this show is to say that the main character is based on Condi Rice.

The electorate might not be ready for a female President, but TV viewers sure are.

One show does not a smash hit make.

Let's see if this headline still applies in 3 weeks.

I, for one, watched it out of pure curiosity. Just like when the circus is in town, a lot of people might stop to say howdy to the bearded lady and the siamese twin midgets but the people are really there to see the acrobats and lion tamers.

"ABC dumped a fortune on this POS- billboards, etc. Say, didn't Ladybird Johnson ban billboards?"

And they'll spend ten more fortunes to get Hillary into office if that is what it takes.

I'll have to try "House." As far as the networks go , "Even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then." So I guess one show out of all the other crap out there is a good find.

The one named Roosevelt was a communist, I believe...:)

I have no problem with a female president. I would have liked to see Phyllis Schlafly run, but she is too stereotyped by people. A remarkable woman.

Of course, Condoleeza Rice is a bit socially liberal, but kicks butt in foreign affairs. And, if she wears clothes like this:

I may just have to overlook that liberal side...:)

"Remember this, the best way to kill this show is to say that the main character is based on Condi Rice."

I read that "Americans for Dr. Rice" (a draft Condi for 2008 organization) bought a local advertisement during the program on the ABC affiliate in Manchester, New Hampshire.

The white-haired guy - I don't remember his name. In all the previews, he has been kinda off the wall. I only saw the very end .. but I'm curious what character he plays .. I suspect he's going to be some Republican over-the-top idiot.

Absolutely correct, the parallels between Davis's character and Dr. Rice make it eerie enough to freak a liberal.

I didn't watch the show, but I've seen countless ads for it... lots of "clever" ads in the New York Times that are fake political cartoons with lobbyists fretting over how to "buy" a woman president, etc.

Every ad essentially said, "look, a WOMAN president! A show about a president who is a WOMAN! Not a MAN! WOMAN! Yeah! WOMAN! Not a man, not like other presidents, she's a WOMAN! Check it out, WOMAN!"

Now, I'm a man, and to be honest I'm not the least bit opposed to a female president, and I don't really care too much if my president is a man or a woman, so long as he or she reflects my political and other values. To those opposed to a female president on the grounds that she would be more likely to be a liberal, two words for you - Margaret Thatcher.

The ad campaign seemed like something for a Lifetime movie or mini-series rather than something to be taken seriously. Maybe they thought they'd get some shock value out of a WOMAN president, but we're in the 21st century and it's certainly possible.

If they want to make a show that's good by its own rights, they really ought to avoid making it a one-trick horse, and this looks like they're setting themselves up for such a problem.

I know just how you feel. Yes, sometimes even in a pile of doggee-doo one can find a gold ring. LOL It's the "star" of the show, "House", that really makes it fun to watch. He's quite the character.

I am ready for a woman President and will vote for the first female candidate, that is best qualified and not a pro-abortion anti-male, anti-family, anti-American, lesbian.

I don't watch TV shows, based upon some dip sh*t Hollywood writer/producer's twisted view of reality.

I do watch and applaud the end of Thelma and Louise every chance I get now, since I learned the political persuasion of Gina's co-star, whats her name. I do feel a little guilty that Geena perishes with her. But she should be more careful in her choice of friends.

I'm not ready to cast a vote for Geena, though, and I'll never be ready to cast a vote for Hillary.
