The Nefertiti bust was well protected and buried deep, hence, survived the Fall of Berlin; also, the Red Army looters didn’t find it, and it was restored to the German museum (unlike Schliemann’s gold of Troy). It’s been called the best-known piece of ancient art, I’d add “indisputably” to the beginning of that. :’)
