There will not be a significant shift to macs because computer-gear heads like cheap modular goods...

That's like saying there will never be a switch to automatic transmissions because hot-rodders like slamming gears.

Macs are goofy... what is a person to do with an IMac or a Mac Cube?

Um, plug it in and turn it on? Is there something in the question I'm missing?

Most computer-peeps like a wall of motherboards, cpus, heatsinks, and ram...

Just wondering -- what color is the sky in your world? The vast majority of computers go to the landfill or the recycler wit the same motherboard and CPU they arrived with. CompUSA has folded its tent, because people are buying their computers at Best Buy and Circuit City (and even Wal-Mart) and mail-order.

The wall of parts is for people who want a hobby, not a tool.
