I think we’re closer to a pre-French Revolution style economy. More people buying things they can’t afford with credit. The more credit they get the more they buy and they will never be free from their debts.

Whether the dollar, Yen or Pound (etc.). They all go to zero as it is in the government's best interest to inflate away all government debt.
Some will do it much slower than others, but all will do it.

....my wife taught college with fellow professors who were still paying on their student loans....and these were people in their late 30s who were still renting because they couldn’t afford a house.
I didn't even read the article... I just scrolled down to see which gold bug was responsible for it.

According to many freepers, the economy is doing great. At least that’s what I heard...until recently, then I stopped hearing all the cheerleaders.

No, silly. It’s not a photograph, it’s an etching. I sat in a chair real still* while the attendant hand carved a woodblock, which he then dipped in ink and pressed on parchment.
Nevertheless, as stark raving crazy as I happen to be... I’m still light-years more sane than any 5h!t 4 brains GOLD BUG.
*It wasn’t hard to sit still, as I was in a straitjacket.

I thought inflation for last year was only 4.1% and this year only 4.5%?

Tell you what, FRIend, if you really believe that, I have an old contractor grade wheel barrow that I’ll be happy to sell you for as many dollar bills as it takes to fill it up.
