I'd agree with a technique of loping the top and then dropping the log. Cottonwoods grow to a good size, don't think I want to drop one of those on my head.

I commend to everyone's attention this CSPAN "After Words" program (video link here) of author Christopher Horner yalking about his new book (11/11/08) "Red Hot Lies". As so many others have pointed out, there is a lot of grant money and out right lies pushing this 'climate change' governmental power grab and this book and talk highlights a lot of it! The author obviously does not think very highly of Hansen!
