Venus doesn't orbit backwards but it spins backwards, same basic sort of thing. Bob Bass once noted that the retrograde spin could not be primordial and had to have arisen via interaction with another planet, and that the curious phase lock between Venus and Earth pretty much tells you which other planet that was.

Whoops, missed yours, looks like it’s been answered though. :’) I’ll let things hang out a little and suggest that any / some undiscovered unknown outer planets move in retrograde.
