Jupiter is known as the solar systems Vacume Cleaner. It has a large magnetic field that attracts loose material and keeps the inner system of rocky planets relitively clear of astroids etc.
It’s gravity is so strong that were Jupiter just a little larger it would “light off” as a star.
It’s no wonder we see so many such “collisions” for the short time we have been watching her.

Check the distance to Jupiter and then look into speed of light and then calculate the time it took for the “hit” to arrive here on earth.

It is less than an hour. ~52 minutes give or take.

This just proves that we need a relief program for the planets and they should be brought under the control of Obummer.

The White House has summoned a famous Hollywood director familiar with filming in outer space to assist them in handling this crisis.

That is a fairly long time, although I don’t know which side of the dateline they’re on, so they may actually be ahead of us.

That, and is Jupiter on Starlight Saving Time?

The part with the Indian Reservation is, the rest isn’t.

A year ago astronomers tell us Pluto is not a planet. This week Ford tells us Mercury will soon be gone. And now this! Obama is bad for the solar system.

And we thought he was just going to destroy the USA. Jeebus

Of course this impact on another planet is Bush’s fault.

Back when SL-9’s chunks started to hit Jupiter, Gene Shoemaker stated that, had one of the larger fragments hit Earth instead, the resulting soot/dust/vapor cloud would have covered up our view of the sky at supersonic speeds, resulting in total blackout in about 90 minutes. I guess the bright spot is, the offshore drilling ban and Demwit prohibition of Utah coal mining would be long gone (by whatever means was handy) by the time the cloud settled out years later. :’)
