I don’t know how big a baseball is.

Smaller than this:

That's more like bowling ball size hail.
I wonder if this is the same storm that forced a plane to land in Colorado due to injuries on board caused by extreme turbulence? I think it was the same day.

It doesn’t matter what they are compared to, they are monsters.

Can’t imagine the kind of winds it took to keep them aloft long enough to form.

These ice chunks must be more like snowflakes on steroids, all different and unique,, can’t imagine all the stuff happening inside a storm like that ,, pretty cool stuff.. except when it unloads on ya..

We used to get hailed in Minnesoda regularly, nothing anywhere that big thank goodness,, it can level crops and fences and livestock..

It fell in Vivian, SD on July 23. Had some earlier that same day at our house, but it was pretty soft, so didn’t do much damage. We’ve had some pretty bad hailstorms here and have had to replace our roof four times, but nothing THAT size.

Melon, yes, that’s about right. I couldn’t think of a fruit big enough. No apology nec. I just thought someone got confused.

I had softball sized hail once. It destroyed cars...I mean totaled them. Bumpers, grills, windows, lights...all gone. Some houses had hail come through the roof and ceiling and land in their front rooms and kitchens. Trees were shredded. The hail bounced about 20foot when landing on grass, and disappeared when landing on concrete. You could hear them zip through the air like little meteors.
