Okay, people.
Knowing trilobite mating habits like I do, they have to shed the exoskeleton to mate.
Like many other species they find a nice warm backwater enmasse.
After mating the males die and drift away.
The females bury themselves in the mud to gestate.
When the eggs hatch the females die and are entombed in a mass grave.
Can I get that grant NOW?

You are assuming that the alleged “geologic ages” actually reflect reality. Lot’s of assumptions for that to be the case. And there is plenty of evidence to dispute it.

This appears to be an error, although the exact placement of the Trilobites within the Arthropod id not certain. It appears that trilobites are no closer to crustaceans than they are to spiders and insects. Trilobites were an independent subclass of Arthropoda, and are totally extinct.
