earth year or uranus year ?
Maybe they should have gone with Herschel's original proposal for the planet's name, Georgium Sidus, in honor of his sovereign, George III.
But I thought Uranus is where the Sun don't shine!
Well, just as long as it doesn’t fart.
Does Uranus emit gases?
(it is one of the “gas giants” of the solar system)
I do not possess the flexibility to perform such a feat. And I can’t imagine what the Sun has to do with it.
Love me some Futurama. Urectum. Chuckle.
My What does what????
All planets, except those inside Earth's orbit (Mercury and Venus), reach an opposition point once every approximate 12 months. The more distant the planet, the closer to 12 months it is. This is because the more distant planets don't appear to move as much across the sky from year to year (with respect to the background stars).
Opposition dates:
Mars: 29-Jan-2010, 03-Mar-2012
Jupiter: 21-Sep-2010, 28-Oct-2011
Saturn: 03-Apr-2011, 15-Apr-2012
Uranus: 25-Sep-2011, 29-Sep-2012
Neptune: 22-Aug-2011, 24-Aug-2012
Pluto: 28-Jun-2011, 29-Jun-2012
Thanks gleeaikin. It may be pingworthy for the stupid jokes alone. :’)
