I tell me kids all the time about their work ethic, reminds me.
My daughter aged 10 now but this happened last year.
She said what is taxes and welfare.
So I got her younger brother sitting down next to her and got out 5 $1 bills
I told her thank you for doing the pots etc and here is her pay, gave her the money.
I then took off her $3 of which I gave her little brother $1 and put two in my pocket.
She looked me all confused and said why are you taking it off me.
I then said $2 go to the running of the house like Govt and then she said why did he get $1 of my money.
I said he’s on welfare and needs the money, she smiled and then said “ Hey that’s not fair he hasn’t done anything, I did the work”
I said exactly, that is welfare and how Govt is.
She remembers this and the other week in her class she used that way to describe taxes in her social studies class.
Anyway thank you for your prayers, hopefully my kids will never turn out to be the elitist hypocrites we see in the media and on these protests or in Govt.
I have the feeling your children will turn out to be responsible citizens who will give you happy grandchildren to love... Again, thanks for sharing.
