There is no difference between today's’ Asisi than Mubarak, Sadat and Nassar before him. All these Generals came to power either via assassination or coup.
All four generals kicked the Muslim Brotherhood's rear ends.
The Muslim Brotherhood managed to kill Sadat in 1981 and then again they came to power (with Obama’s help) under Morsi.
Asisi is just the latest leader of a military junta but Democracy or not, the US should have recognized that Asisi needs the US’s help and not Russia's. Obama abandons allies...
“The response was quick and fierce. One of the terrorists that was involved or claimed responsibility disappearedâuntil his body was delivered to the organizations doorstep in pieces. Yes, pieces.
No Russian was ever kidnapped or harmed after that.”
That was back in the early 80’s, around Beirut I think. IIRC, the Soviets also delivered a couple of cassettes recording the sounds of the guy’s last hours too.
Anyone who thinks the Russians are going to be worried about civilian ‘collateral damage’ are going to be disappointed. They could care less about world opinion.
Exactly. Bill Casey reputedly tried to do something similar when our CIA chief for Lebanon,Bill Buckley, was kidnapped, tortured and eventually killed in 1983 by Hezbollah. In 1985 A car bomb was supposed to take out a Imam thought to have been in charge of Hezbollah, but it missed and killed a number of civilians instead.
However, the institutional memory of the CIA is long and eventually in 2008, they assassinated a man named Imad Mughnieh who they had sought for decades as the Hezbollah chief in charge of Buckley’s ordeal.
Yes, those two events were very close to each other. Same troubled waters, same time. William F. Buckley Jr. had to reassure people that he was very much alive and our murdered agent was someone else. I remember the bastards had a video of photographs of him hanging.
