Hardships and deliverance from them by God reinforces His presence and oversight in men’s affairs. I am a multiple recipient the last few years an very thankful for it.

No. My wife and I hosted about 20 young Marines away from home for Thanksgiving dinner. Grace was spoken boldly in the name of Jesus Christ and those young Marines gave out an even bolder, “Amen.”

Nope. And I wouldn’t eat with anyone who said that. Honey, grab your coat.

How nice of you! And I love their response. Bless these good men — for whom we are so thankful!

Clearly not a “Family” dinner...More of a “group” dinner...

I don’t have a particular Religion, but I always thank God for meals, and so much more.

“Anyone Else Attend Family Thanksgiving Dinner Where Told to Keep All Prayers to Oneself?”
Just say in a firm and audible voice, “I REBUKE YOU SATAN.’

In the middle of talking about prayer, I'd like to pay tribute to my late friend, Larney Mack of Vista, CA. Larney and his wife Becky invited my family and me, though neither of them knew us except as my wife had visited with Becky on the internet, to have Easter Dinner with them the first time our son returned to Camp Pendleton with the 2/5 Marines from Iraq after a seven month deployment.
Larney and Becky were everyone's friend. They had not spent a Christmas morning at home in several years. Christmas Eve, they would check into a hotel in San Diego and, very early Christmas morning, they would go with a number of other families to visit men in the medical platoons--platoons of boot camp Marine trainees who had been injured or had became ill during training and had to become medically fit to continue their training. The families would take cookies and candy and other things for the trainees. A man would pass out cell phones with a simple request to the men: "Call your Mom and Dad, then pass the phone on the someone else." (We still don't know whether that was permitted or not, but the man was no intimidated by the DIs.
The Day we had Easter dinner with them, someone, I've forgotten who, prayed. We ate and had a wonderful time.
Larney passed on way too soon. We will miss him. He was a man who respected everyone including their need and right to pray.

Our crazy liberal sibling disowned us after the election.
So no problems at the dinner...my prayer went something like “I am thankful that Hillary blew it and that Trump pulled it put if his ass. I am thankfull that we are all healthy.”
There may have been some laughter at the dinner table between the trump portion and the health portion if the prayer.
I would honestly prefer to have drama and my sister back in the fold but the dinner was pleasant.

I never go places for thanksgiving. It’s for my wife, my daughter and I.
I don’t need a huge table and to be surrounded by friends. This is the second year that I haven’t been able to have my mother here with me - that’s been our thing since the divorce.
She’s alive, but she’s very far away and busy with other things this time of year.
but still... I used to be shocked by thanksgiving traditions and rules and regulations - Until I learned that it’s truly for immediate family, and when it’s just us - at our home - that’s where the magic happens.

No!
We had a Thanksgiving service at church, There were several prayers. I got up and named many things I am thankful for, including the election of Donald Trump. After the service we had a pot luck dinner. My family ate at my house this evening, my 4 year old grandson prayed before we ate.

My seven year old daughter asked me what Thanksgiving is so I instructed her about the history of the Pilgrims being thankful to God and led us in prayer.
Later my wife said I left that whole Indians thing out.

Did you each get a Participation Ribbon too? Assume the food was passed to the LEFT also.

We gave thanks to God which included thanks for and protection of our President-Elect. No Dems in my immediate family.

Thats awful, I would just start praying out loud.
I’m not good about praying before eating every day and every meal but, I am going to burst out to defend my Lord from being denied His glory...What you witnessed was a mocking of God.
