Yep, and Christmas. Wife works as a police dispatcher.
But the 5 dogs will keep me company. What are your pooches' names? I love doggies!
Merry Christmas to your entire brood...wife included.

Someone sent me an expensive bottle of Absinthe. Never tried it. Don't drink.

Exactly!
As a child I cherished my “alone time” riding my
spider bike down dusty, dirt roads past cane shacks and cotton fields.
I’m never alone though alone!

Left the only home I've really known in June. There was nothing there. I'm now on the opposite side of the country. This is the most alone I've ever been in my life. Other than my dog who has ridden in my lap the entire way.
This journey was predicated on God leading me and guiding me to happiness I had come to believe He might have. Especially at last some family. Some love. It seems as far away as ever, right now. I know He is there. But I don't know if He's listening. And, I guess that makes it a very lonely Christmas indeed :-/

Not alone, but wife and I missing college son. He's working late shift (Walmart) and won't come over until tomorrow.
Christmas is just not as much fun now that he's grown. We'll have a nice dinner tomorrow, but then he'll be out the door again. His present this year: money, which he asked for, plus socks and a few things like that his mother thinks he probably needs.
I have found so much joy in Free Republic this year. So many new friends.
My very best wishes to all of you.

True, but He never says how much He liked my turkey and dressing.
Even Adam, who walked with God daily, was lonely so God created Eve.
Humans need contact with other humans. We are, at heart, pack animals.

At least I’m not cleaning my guns like I have for the past 8 years.

Some crab Rangoon would sound good about now.
Maybe it would help with this cold that I started with a couple of days ago.
We did an early Christmas yesterday with the extended family in Shelby.
I’m home alone with the best GSD in the world with Man In The High Castle on.
The spousal unit is doing round 1 of evening services choir.
If I am up for it, I’ll go out for round two.

Me, my wife and three doggies, one recovering from having all her decayed teeth pulled on Wed.
(We rescued her, before you climb on my back as to “how could you?”)
A great Christmas Even movie is “While You Were Sleeping” with Sandra Bullock.

When I lived in Wasilla, I spent several Christmases alone, and realized I actually enjoyed it. I bought a few things for myself far enough ahead so I forgot what was in the packge after I wrapped it, and on Christmas day, had a couple of happy surprises. I cooked a 9-pound turkey and all the trimmings, and enjoyed my day. Kids called, so I really never felt lonely. If you can, celebrate the day with church, and make it as festive as possible.o
Now, I'm closer to my kids, so I don't spend the day alone any more.

Most of the family is away this year but there are a few of us getting together. Some years play out that way for us.
I see you are a fellow Kansas City Chiefs fan. It will be fun to watch the game tomorrow night and hopefully we take care of the hated Broncos.
Have a very Merry Christmas and GO CHIEFS!!!
