As I remember, they made money through shipping it out of China. The father and grandfather of Sarah Delano Roosevelt, FDR’s mother, made the money.

I've lately been looking at the notion that New York is pretty much the center of Globalist Crony Capitalism power. This bit of information is another supporting piece of evidence.

And there is still not a single shred of Constitutional authority for the Feds to tell adults what they can or can not put into their own bodies. None.

There is plenty of authority which says that states and local communities can make the certain toxic substances illegal. And the US has the right to control its borders.

A friend of mine, a history buff, once said that the English upper class was the most evil group in all of history. I’d argue argue against the “most” designation. Consider Hitler’s Nazis and Stalin’s commissars, for example.

Nevertheless, my friend did have a point.

If you read enough history, you quickly realize that the English Aristocracy were/are some vicious bastards. They also tend to be successful as a result.

The states have the authority to do so, and as a result, a consensus among them empowers the Feds to get involved. Interstate law enforcement and protecting our borders are already constitutionally recognized Federal areas of responsibility.

I will also add that only the Federal government can be empowered to deal with a crime that is mostly international in origin.

Many of them are simply nuts and in a saner society would be institutionalized.

At this point I think many of them are nuts because of drugs. And with things like meth the damage is permanent.

I agree. And France and England are tied in because they influenced the dirty deeds before the USA came into power. Then the center of power gravitated to the US.

The Rothchilds were/are the most powerful.

The Delano family also made millions during the Civil War when they saw to it that the US Army Medical Corp had supplies of Opium. They, among many others, were big war profiteers.

I'm not buying into the Rothchilds conspiracy stuff, but in my studying of the start of the Civil War, it certainly appears to me that wealthy men of New York had the most to lose from an Independent South.

I think New York's excessive influence in Washington began with the election of Lincoln, and has continued ever since. I think the Media broadcasting systems are located in New York precisely so that influential people can keep an eye on them, and insure they put forth "news" that is in the best interests of those people who like Big Government in Washington D.C.

The Delano family also made millions during the Civil War when they saw to it that the US Army Medical Corp had supplies of Opium. They, among many others, were big war profiteers.

And that fits too, of course.

I agree. They needed a center of power for control purposes and NY fit the bill.

You got that right. The vast majority of shopliftings are in search of funds for drugs. You know who is buying the shoplifted items?

Muslim quickie mart operators who then jack up the price for their own stores OR they sell it out on tables set up right in the hood road side.

Copper theft was unheard off until the heroin craze we are going through. Now you don’t dare build a house without extra thought of protecting the copper pre-finishing and marking so scrappers (presumably) won’t take it.

People are dying left and right because heroin is being cut with Fentanyl and sometimes carfentanil. The body count is so high here in St. Louis County that they are now using mobile morgues to store the bodies. These mobile morgues are meant for mass casualty events.

Some will tell you that legalization of narcotics is immoral. I say what is more immoral is the continuing the drug war in which tens of thousands are killed or wounded each year because of the black market for narcotics. If mass graves of women and children in Mexico does not get your attention, then nothing will.

We will NEVER have the death penalty for drug dealers. Social Justice Warriors will see to that and trying those cases would bankrupt the nation and would do nothing to stop the trade other than make dealers more desperate.

It would be cheaper just to have compassionate distribution centers and take the profit out of the trade, which drives the violence and has made our cities unlivable except for the most desperate and feral.

>>Weed is not opium.<<
>>Weed is the camel's nose in the tent.<<

More folks are led to weed by alcohol's nose in the tent. Alcohol...the legal drug, is responsible for more deaths in the U.S. than all illegal drugs combined.

After a hard dayz work in state houses and up in D.C. legislating against all manner of drugs...law makers slap one another on the back and meet at the local drug flop house...oh, I mean the pub to throw back a few scotch and sodas.

Tawk about hypocrisy at it's finest.

I'm not against folks drinkin. I like a nice IPA from time to time my-seff.

Point being...it's so hypocritical the laws.

I don't have the answers to America's appetite for substances, but what the gubbamint has done so far hasn't worked.

Just like prohibition...When the gubbamint clamps down on this sort of stuff, folks war for profits and people die.

The process went like this: get boat in New York Cit, sail to India, load up on opium, sail to China, sell opium to Chinese, don’t get killed in the process, use money from opium sales to buy ‘exotic Oriental goods”, sail to San Fransisco, sell “exotic Oriental goods”, take pile of money back to New York City, retire to newly purchased estate.

That’s a good summary.

Then they made many more millions during the Civil War by providing Opium to the Army Medical Corp.

We have hundreds of brain-damaged people wandering around outside my downtown office building right now. Brain damaged from drugs and euphemistically called “the homeless.” The police are constantly dealing with them, and they are often violent and deranged. Huges spikes in crime
>

And across the fruited plains we have scores of Citizens killed in their domiciles, in the middle of the night, from no-knock raids (some @ wrong addresses), property confiscated w/o ever being convicted of a crime, and 330M+ ‘*potential* terrorists/drug-users/$$ laundering’ that the banks are tasked w/ keeping track of every transaction/withdraw/deposit (violating the 4th/5th), and keeping and bearing arms is now a privilege (req. permit in most instances)....

Think I’ll take the brain-damaged over infringing upon Rights of We the People. Least the former are consequence of their action(s) in a (once) Free country. Where the family has failed, the govt fails more often/worst degree (let PC close the nut houses, can’t ship ‘em out so they endanger others, etc.).

Seems those that refuse to learn from history have inflicted worse upon the land....At least Prohibition was valid and Constitutional, not by some illegal ‘law’\decree w/o valid authorization.

Course, them negro jazz singers are to blame.... /s

You need to read more about the opium situation in China in the 1840s. Having opium be legal but under government control did not stem the problem. It created a societal catastrophe. Things are bad in this country now with regard to drug use. Legalizing drugs will make things incalculably worse.

I don't have the answers to America's appetite for substances,

A line has to be drawn and maintained. Our society has drawn it at alcohol. Move the line at your own risk--but we already know what happens when large numbers of people get addicted to crack and meth. Expanding that number is good for no one except the drug dealers.

People had legal access to opium in the US until the Progressives got their way. Somehow we got by before they took over.
