Alabama has won 4 national championships over the last nine years. They will be playing for 5 out of the last ten. I don’t need to defend my position.

Also, I am not so confident in Alabama winning it this year. We’ve had way too many injuries. I could go on with the if if if if if about that but I would rather not.

Alabama beat (rather badly) Clemson last night. They were considered the top team in the playoffs this season. They were wishing they played OSU instead. OSU didn’t do so well against them last year if I recall correctly.

You win the internet today because I’ve got a lot of work to do. Bye.

Whoever is been “cheated” and really the “best”, come on down and join the SEC for a year. You will be beaten like a drum.

If Bama does win it this year, it will be Saban’s best coaching job, ever. This Bama team isn’t even close to some of Saban’s more talented teams over the years.

I’ve watched three of their games this year. They looked good yesterday. I wouldn’t know how to bet. Georgia strong also. I guess that’s why they’re in the finals.

Agreed. And we’ve also had too many injuries. We lost two more starters last night. It has been an unbelievable season with all the injuries.

I don’t believe the overall talent is what it’s been over the last few years either.

Clemson was ranked no 1 based on what fact? They beat Miami which lost to Wisconsin? Clemson lost to unranked Syracuse, the ACC obviously was not as good a conference as last year. That’s how things quickly change.

New era called the CFP requires a team to win at least 2 games to be crowned champion. In this era Ohio State 1, Alabama 1, Clemson 1 and next Monday Georgia 1.

You lose the internet and the game...bye.

Bama looked nothing like the team that played against Auburn.

A good argument for broader playoffs

UCF is quite a story

They and Boise State a few years back are similar

Didn’t really play anybody yet were up to the task

It’s so weird to see a metro college donwhat they have done

Next it’ll be Miami Dade Community College in the top 25

Your facts are not straight. Two teams from the same conference were never included in the CFP for the sake of the committee’s desire for a diverse field of teams. What changed? ESPN $$$$

No. The fact is that last year, the PAC-12 had a one-loss champion, so it made sense to put them in over a two-loss PSU. But this year, USC was also a two-loss champion. So it makes more sense to have a viable one-loss team rather than a two-loss PAC-12 or B1G champion.

Again, the committee established last year that championships count for only so much, but do not clinch a berth. Perhaps if OSU wasn't spanked 55-24 by an 8-5 Iowa team, or USC wasn't beaten 49-14 by Notre Dame, they would have made the playoffs. Those are exactly the type of losses that doomed PSU the year before.

Last year’s Big Ten champion PSU had better wins than Pac 12 Washington...

You mean a Notre Dame team that was beaten 41-8 by Miami, and Miami beaten by Wisconsin? Or a Miami team crushed by Clemson who lost to unranked Syracuse? The same Notre Dame team that lost 38-20 to Stanford, which was beaten 2 times this year by USC?

Or a Alabama team that lost to a 4 loss Auburn team that lost to non-power 5 conference UCF and to LSU and to Clemson?

Yeah, the best conference in America is left without representation in the CFP when Alabama’s best wins were no. 17 LSU who just lost to NOTRE DAME, and against a 9-4 Miss St.

I am from the other power 5 conferences that actually have to play a full slate of games within their conference instead of scheduling second division teams like 5-6 FCS Mercer (Alabama) or FCS The Citadel (Clemson). What are they afraid of, playing a division one opponent where they might actually have to compete?
