Absolutely! It is a fascinating subject. My degrees were in music history and literature, so it is topic close to my heart. However, I know next to nothing about the history of Chinese or Polynesian music.

Biblical and Middle eastern music is also an intriguing subject. There is so little we know though on how the music sounded.
