I think all of us try to solve these without help, but when I’m stumped, and that seems to be every 5th or 6th puzzle, I’ll copy and paste the quote into HAL’S HELPER, and that usually gives you the “E” and “T”s.
When one makes a cryptogram, it hard to judge the difficulty. I was trying to just be humorous, but how long did that take? Being short, I thought afterward it might be to difficult to be funny.
I’d prefer the punctuation remain unchanged.
I use Hals Helper and - like a Crossword puzzle, when I get ‘stumped’ I put it down and come back to it. and I don’t consider that a ‘win’.... I also think using HAL is ‘cheating’(for lack of a better word) BUT I use it anyway.<: <: <:
Haven’t been all that succesful with these but if I ‘guess’ correctly on the first couple things tend to ‘fall in place’.
A “T H E” opened up an EVERTHING and it was downhill from there.
Thanks for the ‘challenges’....
OK, I see. I thought the punctuation would be in the original source, and the cryptogram would be true to that. Of course, if there is no puntuation in the original it shouldn’t be added after the fact...
I’ll start adding the punctuation if it’s in the original source, but steer clear of confusing anyone expecting a conjunction.
Works for me, thanks!
