It’s a joke something I always bring up to Australians to see what their reaction is!
My personal encounter with it: A bunch of guys Aussie guys I used to play rugby with brought some to our after-game rugby party. The team we played for home-based in Annapolis Maryland. They dared their fellow drunk American teammates to eat it. You know with tales that its the Aussie equivalent of Popeye’s spinach. When you’re a 20-something single rugby playing guy anything is believable with enough brewskis. Anyway I remember the taste was vile even though the party was great! Fun memory!
I do the same thing with Scotts & haggis. Though I don’t have a personal haggis story! (Maybe I need one!)

That is a good point. A few months ago, insiders said that Clare Bronfman had stopped putting money into his commissary account as she had been doing during 2018 after his arrest. There was a little rumble when observers or insiders noted that he had had visitors of the young, thin, female persuasion. First thought to be prisoner-groupies or acolytes that would contribute to his prison account after Clare cut him off. It was just recently revealed that those young ladies were para-legals from his defense team. Ooops.
Whether he has attracted any other followers or groupies is unknown.
As for protection money in other inmate accounts, it seems the MDC where he's held has a very transient population. He's an anomoly having been there over a year now. It's mostly a holding facility where inmates might be there a few months or less.
I think his money has dried up and even if he had some, he is SO arrogant that he would never think of paying for protection. In his mind, people should protect him for his intellectual prowess alone.
I think his own personality is his undoing.

FBI operation locates more than 200 missing/exploited children
More than 200 missing or exploited children are in safe
hands thanks to the FBI’s Metro Atlanta Child Exploitation
and Human Trafficking task force. In a statement released
last week, the FBI Atlanta Field Office disclosed the
results of its May operation to locate children in the
Atlanta metro area deemed vulnerable to sexual predators.
This collaborative effort included cooperation between the
FBI and other local, state, and federal agencies.
Operation Safe Summer’s goal was to “combat all forms of
child exploitation and make our community safer for our
children heading into the summer months,” the FBI statement
read. According to the National Center for Missing and
Exploited Children, 1 in 7 runaway children are victims of
sex trafficking. In 2018, more than 23,500 runaway children
were reported. It was estimated that about 420 missing
children were located in the Atlanta metro area.
“Thanks to the month-long efforts of our partners, 231
children are no longer vulnerable to predators who seek to
exploit them,” Special Agent Chris Hacker said. “Operation
Safe Summer is another example of the FBI’s commitment to
protecting our children before they become victims.”
