The thing about RR telling the Mule he hadn’t told his boss - whether Sessions (which I believe RitaOK here was the first to discern) or POTUS or both or whatever - he wasn’t supposed to! SESSIONS had to be recused in order to become ]SESSIONS[ - otherwise he’d been mired in the Mule op; instead, by recusing, he was able to put together things on the side. I still feel this is ambiguous as to the true role of RR ... always TBD ;)

Over a year ago Brendan Dilley, Hublife, kept stating that Mueller was recalled to active duty by POTUS.

This was considered at the time of the appointment and there was one "Q" post that I recall which noted the Mule was a former Marine. As with most things about RR & the Mule, I'm always interested, never fully convinced of one thing or another ... but the Marine angle intrigued me. I will say one of the things I found most compelling was the pathetic performance the Mule put on before Congress - he certainly wasn't a very good black hat, he rather seemed to be a placeholder for letting the rats run wild. Similarly, there are a number of issues referred by the Mule for other prosecutors, first and foremost being the entire redacted page D-5.
