You probably recognize this from the soundtrack of "There's Something About Mary", it was the track that really stood out.
Ben Lee - How to Survive a Broken Heart
Pat Travers' band opened for Rundgren. Todd still sounded pretty good in 2013, not so much now. Obviously no one was snorting whiskey and drinkin' cocaine before the show. There's another vid of Todd and his band (probably not this show, but who knows) doing Robert Johnson's "Stop Breakin' Down". BTW, the cover version of "Broke Down & Busted" on the Todd tribute album "For the Love of Todd" is the best recording of the song (ironically).
Todd Rundgren, "Mystified"/"Broke Down & Busted" ( w/ Pat Travers * 12-31-2013 (13 (-1)) * Orlando)
Hmm, guess I'm not the only one who bought it. :^) The only other track worth revisiting, IMHO, is below. NO ONE should ever attempt to cover "Healer", btw. Flabbergasted that anyone uploaded tracks to YT.
Don Dixon - Broke Down and Busted
Greg Jennings - The Fire of the Mind
This band was mentioned up there (post #39 I think) and they've got a bunch of breathtaking studio work that's new, but when they were performing live they seem to have been pretty much dynamite. They have a live vid of Todd's 'Leroy Boy' ("We've Gotta Get You A Woman") and a show-stopping cover of his "Love is the Answer", part of their lockdown material -- which also includes The Eagles' "Seven Bridges Road", the late John Prine's "Angel from Montgomery". Older live recordings cover older stuff like CSN's "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes", Pure Prairie League's "Amie", Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" (title correct?), bunch of others. The YT channel is "Tim Purcell".
Crosby, Stills and Nash - Helplessly Hoping (Cover) - Foxes and Fossils
I'm posting the studio version as I listen to his live version, which is truncated. The other day I saw a YT of Zevon playing I-forget-what-tune with T-Bone Burnett.
Warren Zevon - Back In the High Life Again (cover of Stevie Winwood)
Title track of another of his solo albums. He's done five I think, they're all around here, three are worth getting IMHO. Meanwhile, it appears that they've been made officially available on YT.
Ian Anderson - Rupi's Dance
