Running late catching up but want to clarify on your prayer question. Bags, the prayer Q posted is not quoted from the Bible. There is not a thing scripturally wrong with the prayer tho. It is a sincere sounding prayer from the heart of one asking God’s help.
Only way anything could be wrong with that prayer is if it came from a bad heart. We can’t make that assessment, only God knows. Anyone making that accusation has already put themselves in jeopardy by making that judgement themselves instead of leaving it to God.
We have a great crowd of varied Christian voices in FreeQs, multi denominational. We would have hotly debated any question of Q Christian sincerity (more than any owl) if there were doubts.
2 Corinthians 11:14 is a verse commonly used in theological/doctrinal debates by the person who is
A) losing the argument
B) not scriptually knowledgeable enough to back their stated position
C) too lazy or ignorant to research and provide citation for their point.
D) all of the above - aka rock bottom gung fu in scripture. (They probably spout that one scripture at every dumb argument. BTT equivalent of “Q said trust Sessions.)
Having brought that up, I WILL SAY that the metaphor is INCOMPLETE as typically expressed. Because the COMPLETE story would be that as time goes on, and the blind men spend much of their lives around and involved with the elephant, their stories will become more complete and many of the sharp differences in their initial descriptions will become harmonized!
The salient point that is usually missed in that story is that none of their interpretations of what they are feeling is true. There is only one truth. That is that there is an elephant. The point the story is trying to make is bullspit. The story is mental misdirection. Truth is correspondence to reality. (The best philosophical definition of truth that exists.) Therefore if a proposition is true, it is true for all people everywhere at all times. There is no such thing as true for you but not for me.
In much the same way many people try to spin what the Bible says, but there is only one truth. It means what the author meant it to mean. It applies in various ways to us but there is only one true meaning. It is the responsibility of the reader to investigate and find the truth.
The Scripture says that many will believe a lie because they received not the love of the truth. This is why post modernism has spent so much energy attacking the idea of objective truth. There are many people who believe that truth is only what you want it to be.
There is absolutely nothing unbiblical about the prayer or in what Q is doing and promoting. Those so-called theologians that are trying to discredit Q are guilty of cherry picking scripture to support an agenda.
Remember this: If you take the Bible out of context you can find a proof text for almost any pretext.

I’ve noted through the years how Ted Danson and his wife, Mary Steenburgen, seemed to have endless acting jobs in TV series and movies, despite having average talent. I thought it was just because they were probably very nice, didn’t seem to have substance abuse problems that would affect their reliability, could remember their lines, and were easy to get along with. Being involved in pedophilia could also explain their long-term success.
I’ll probably have bad dreams tonight thinking about his movie roles in “Three Men and a Baby” and “Three Men and a Little Lady”. Those poor children.

You bet it doesn't smell right. It actually contradicts the Church's 2000-year old magisterium, a fancy Latin word for the whole body of teaching. The pope is supposed to be the defender of that magisterium. Bergoglio not so much.
