I grew up on military bases and they used to fog the housing areas weekly. We never avoided it and did ride our bikes behind the trucks.
The banning of DDT did lead and continues to lead today to lots of death in Africa and elsewhere.
I am glad I cancelled my SA subscription 20 years ago.
DDT did much good including causing Low-T in millennials and the woke..
So do you think the COVID vaccine will get this type of scrutiny in years to come? I don’t think so. The makers of DDT mustn’t have donated to the Democrat party like big Pharma does.

She completely ignored the available information of the day. But Rachel Carson came along one day and claimed that DDT corrupted the eggs recently laid by birds, it was leading to the death, it was killing birds and other animals. DDT was a pesticide killing animals in nature, and so DDT was pulled. The most effective weapon against malaria ever, and one book by a liberal activist, Rachel Carson, which was fraud in and of itself — and, by the way, Vickie —

RUSH: — Rachel Carson’s fraud has been known long before since last week or last year. But it’s still active. DDT is still not permitted. It’s still subject to all of the denigration that was heaped upon it. Her words are still gospel.

CALLER: Because they quit using the DDT.

And she went out there and she claimed that DDT — it was like, remember the California condor was facing extinction, and they were doing everything they could to save the condor. By the way,, forget the condor for a second. One of my all-time favorite birds is the pelican. I’m fascinated by the things. They are a protected species. You know why? Because it is said that DDT softens the shells of pelican eggs and many of them don’t even hatch.
It’s all BS. It’s like this BS of lights on the beach and turtles. Folks, there’s so much liberal fraud out there that has resulted in the loss of common sense, day to day freedom. But more, it’s just fraud. It’s a bunch of lies for the purposes of advancing the liberal ideology. And the liberal ideology is expansive governments, waning individual freedom. It’s hideous. Rachel Carson was full of it. That has been well documented. Because of her nonsense being touted as truth, millions of people died from malaria who might have been spared had DDT not been banned. We used to ride our bikes through clouds of the stuff while we followed the billowing mosquito spray truck down the street. No issues so far.
Off topic, but just bury your food scraps in your mulch pile. No animal fats or meats though. Same with your newspapers and junk mail. I have a large blender in the garage from a paper mill lab and I re-pulp all my waste paper. Best compost ever!

Another plea for more grant money by the ‘scientists’. I’m sure that many here used to be engulfed in the spray as kids and all is well in their families.
Oh and you can drink glyphosate - you may get sick to your stomach. I’m sure you are thinking of the retail stuff which is 3-6%. However, a 40gal commercial barrel of glyphosate is up to 46%; then diluted for use back to 3-6%.
A few years back 7 people drank the undiluted 46% glyphosate in an attempt to commit suicide, 6 had very bad stomach aches and one actually died, but it was his 4th attempt.
Unless you are a plant and have plant genes, glyphosate unlikely to kill you, since glyphosate targets specific plant genes.
These people are environmental assholes..

I’ve tried adjusting all the settings on my end to prevent double posts, but it continues half the time.
I remember this conversation because Rush was discussing how people were trying to shut down his residence in Florida due to “BS of lights on the beach and turtle”.
I have lived in Africa and Rachel Carson was doing the work of her Father, the devil, when she wrote that book and used it to shut down DDT.

I’m old enough to remember when articles in Scientific American had at least some empirical validity.
Rush discussed the DDT ban several times in the run of his show but this was one example I quickly found and he would rebroadcast such calls/monologues when he was on the air because they quickly covered the basics of the issue (that never seems to go away).
If he was still on the air I’d expect him to reference it from his stack of stuff at least once in the current 2 week span of this study getting press.
Scientific American has become a fictional left wing rag. Rachel Carson was a whack job sci fi writer. The only lingering effects from DDT exposure are a few days where mosquitos won’t bother you. Millions of now dead malaria victims would gladly have taken the non-risk.
There is strong reason to believe the "linked" symptoms are simply genetic.
But most of those that died were people of color so their lives didn't matter.
