People who keep wolves as pets don’t really understand the difference between domesticated and wild. A brother’s wife got a half-wolf, and fortunately my brother had enough sense to not let it in the house.
There was an interesting NOVA show about the origins of dogs, and one segment was the story of a Russian scientist who, over 25 generations, bred domesticated foxes. The contrast between the wild foxes and the domesticated ones was amazing.
She knew something was wrong when the only trick it could learn was “scavenge the carcass.”

That might actually be a female hyena. They have some weird stuff going on.

Well this is disappointing but makes more sense than the story itself.
Couldn’t figure out how a Hyena got to Detroit in the first place…….
