Gave me a few bad dreams as a kid.
So did Project UFO.
“ever tried to stand up in a hurricane ?”
No, but I’ve seen pallets flyin’ by like frisbees.
When I was out in micronesia before big storms the island I was on would try to strip off their coconuts off the trees.
I asked somebody why and they answered me a question; “have you ever been hit in the head with a 95 mile an hour coconut?”
The entire colony of the unvaxxed died of COVID-19 400 years ago. They didn’t even wear masks! THAT’s just how deadly this virus really is. It can travel centuries back in time and kill everybody without even leaving a trace!
Sorry, Queen Elizabeth was dead for 14 years when Raleigh got the chop. Even James I didn't want to do it, but the Spanish insisted.
The survivors merged with the closet Tribe they were friends with.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A closet tribe, huh?
And then they went extinct?
Much of the area likely still holding evidence/artifacts from the colony leaving is currently a live-fire military training area. Searching for historical objects is ... discouraged.
Really? What evidence is there for this?
Native Americans ate them all.
English Protestants were forbidden to marry natives but French Catholics were allowed to take Indian wives.
The Saponi Indians appear as a mix of Anglo and Native.
In theory, Roanoke was not so much lost as it was mixed in with locals and outcast as a result. This is a possibility.
Not Elizabeth, but James the1st. Executed on On October 29, 1618.
Yes. They use the scientific method.
But they are also mixed in with historians.
They are some of the most fascinating people one could ever meet.
If they were, it would have been quite a trek getting from Roanoke Island to Arizona, as Route 60 had yet to be built.
“The only clues left that gave any hint to the fate of the colonists of Roanoke was the word “Croatoan” carved into a fence post and the letters “CRO” carved into a tree. All of the buildings had been disassembled, so the people had not been forced to leave in a hurry. The colonists were instructed to carve a Maltese cross in a tree if they were compelled to leave against their will. There was no Maltese cross found at the site. White assumed, with all of these clues, that the colonists had moved to the nearby Croatoan Island, but bad weather prevented him and his men from going to look for them. His men wouldn’t go with him to look for the missing colonists, and they left the next day.”
according to History Channel, they were abducted by aliens.
What does it mean, I have not heard that before?
The Lumbee are thought to be the descendants of the Lost Colony.
Everyone in America knew the story well into the 1940s as the birthday of Vrginia Dare - thought to have been taken into the Lumbee tribe - was celebrated even at the federal level.
Heather Locklear is a Lumbee tribal member - her family name is common in that tribe - and may represent the genetics passed down from the Lost Colony.
There are some really fascinating theories, facts and evidence posted on this site if you are interested.
A research study done a few years ago ,
They were absorbed by a local friendly tribe they traded with .
Someone just posted about that tribe.
