Thanks Army Air Corps. Rodent you know something like this would happen?
The 1755 Lisbon earthquake really did a number on them.
Oh the horror....
Ha!
I guess archaeologists found and went through the garbage dumpings from a Viking Cruise ship that visited the Azores.
I do wonder how they are going to date and explain that Minnesota Vikings fan’s button they found.
Yeah. What a fascinating historical shift.
I didn’t know that Portugal had a football team.
A Viking mouse?
Probably being chased by one of those Viking Kittens!
And then there was the battle of _Alcácer_Quibir, or Three Kings, in Portuguese Morocco in 1578 which resulted in the loss in battle of almost all the important Portuguese nobility including King Christian, leading to Phillip II of Spain becoming a dual king.
Right.
If a Viking is crushed and killed by a falling tree in an undiscovered forest, did he discover the forest any more than the skeleton of a shipwreck victim on a remote island proves that they discovered the island?
This makes me laugh.
So, they were THERE FIRST.
IF THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IT...WHO CARES???
If I find a diamond on the street and I walk away, what good is the diamond or anything else.
If you discover continents, or countries, or states or cities and you do NOTHING about it.’
SEEMS TO ME YOU ARE PRETTY STUPID.
There was no booty to be looted in the Azores. The Vikings were pretty lazy about that.
The weird thing was they had such a lust for green pastures and the Azores would have given them a perfect launching point for their excursions.
LOL!!!
And yet, they did not take the opportunity to USE IT.
The Vikings were fierce and adventurous, but they sure were very much like today’s Dimocrats...absolutely no FORESIGHT.
When these discoveries are reported I always think, What are those reporting expect??? They want us to be amazed and awed.
I think they lacked the ability to FIND it again. Their navigation tools were relatively rudimentary, and they rarely left sight of a shoreline. It seems likely to me that whomever these Viking dudes were, they were simply blown off course by a storm. Similar things happened to Phoenician sailors a thousand years earlier. They did not have the navigation capabilities to return to where they landed.

Da, but pippls from Mother Rusha first find Norway, Vikings Russians!
+1
The warrior Sea Peoples sailed and fought at least 2,000 years before the Vikings.
And likely some other group before them…
