Well, that settles it! Greeks settled ancient Russia and Russia in inalienably Greek!
I guess Greece will now invade Russia to reunite it with the Motherland.
🤣
The sad story is that until 1944 the 2500 year old Greek community was still a part of Crimea’s population.
Stalin did not trust them, and the entire population was deported/executed and replaced by the Russians who now make up the Crimean population.
Stalin didn’t trust ANYONE.
It has always been known that there were ancient Greek cities on the Crimean peninsula (the Tauric Chersonesus) and elsewhere around the Black Sea. The Taman peninsula is just east of Crimea on the other side of the Strait of Kerch which connects the Sea of Azov with the Black Sea.
I was just taking advantage of the story to mock Putin’s reasons for invading.
Thanks Phoenix8.
If Turkey attacked Ukraine from the rear, would Greece help?
“Ancient Greek Corinthian Helmet Found in Southwest Russia,”
Give it a few hundred years and the title will be
Ancient Russian Kevlar Helmet Found in Southwest Russia”
Maybe that area produced pretty boys back in the day.
That would definitely attract wandering Greeks.
