Wife was supposed to meet me but something came up. They said I couldn't leave without someone to escort me. I told them they had no arrest powers. What is missing in your assessment is that most medical systems today are run by marginally intelligent ‘business’ people. The bottom line is the bottom line for them, and they wouldn’t recognize quality medical care if it bit them in the a**.

They come up with inane ‘quality metrics’ that mean nothing - and as long as lip service is paid to these metrics they puff their chests out and actually believe that they are the arbiters of excellent medical care. It’s beyond pathetic, but these are the people you should be addressing your complaints to.

Ladies in our church in TN have had babies and come home well before 24 hours. If it truly is a state law, some hospitals aren’t following it.
