LMAO! The Sound of Silence! Nice job. This tune when performed by the group Disturbed, is a favorite of mine, recently.

When I first developed tinnitus, I thought it would drive me crazy.
But, after several years of listening to a constant high-pitched squeal, I am fine.
All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.

I was told mine as probably from a virus. I got very sick after a trip to Haiti, and my T started faintly in my left ear. I grew worse and I finally lost my hearing on my left side (but not the tinnitus). I now have tinnitus in my right ear but my hearing on my right is normal for my age (64). Weird.
An “Ode to Tinnitus”. That’s original.
I call it a pain in the a**, but that can cover a lot of things, lol!
Had a thirty year career in the Bell System and its progeny. I’m right handed, so I would cradle the test set with my left shoulder. Today my left ear is where the world around me sings.
I was at a wake for a co-worker a few years ago. A couple of us were standing in a circle talking in low tones. The wives off to the side were pointing at us and laughing. We were all leaning in with our right ears except for my old partner. He was leaning in with his left....he was the only south paw in the group.
Not funny. I set her hardly able too do anything with a roaring in my ears.
BTTT
If you want it to subside for a while, for some it’s actually days but not me, try this simple trick.
Push both your palms on your ears with your fingers wrapped behind you neck where it meets the skull hard. Push firmly on your ears while drumming your fingers against the back of your skull for a full 30 second.
Release your hands and listen.
Used to be left ear only.
Now its in the right as well. The good news is the notes they are using fit the same chord.
Got mine 3 days after the jab.
One day, the sound will fade away. Then, ruh roh.
Wow - 65 comments on this tinnitus post...
LOL - maybe we should start a Podcast!
I only get it once it a great while.
Here too. Reminds me of how my ears would ring for days after going to a concert, and I went to plenty of them when I was a teenager. :O
I can relate. Constant whine in my left ear. Sometimes it’s a dull whine and sometimes its loud.
Brilliantly written!
My new hearing aids have an anti-tinnitus feature that sometimes eliminates tinnitus in some people. They haven’t turned that on for me yet ... they have to fine tune the things as much as possible first.
Both ears. Very high pitched whistling. It began in January 2021.
I have the grasshoppers.
