Always floss before being sacrificed to appease the gods.
Apocalypto
Had the same lecture during a cruise in
2007.
Tlaloc was the Aztec rain god. Chaac was the Mayan rain god. I’m not sure if evidence exists for child sacrifice to Chaac, but there is evidence that it existed for Tlaloc. Supposedly they found uniform wounds on all the children’s bones at the sacrifice site. The theory is that the wounds were inflicted pre-execution in order to make the children cry, as Tlaloc was moved by the purity of the children’s tears. In return, he would send rain.
Produced and directed by Mel Gibson
I was thinking it was Davros as he was still evolving but, yes, I see a Sontaran there too.
Its Neolithic people behaving Neolithically!
If you go back 10,000 years or so in Europe, you find similar behavior, I have a book called “Warfare in Neolithic Europe: An Archaeological and Anthropological Analysis” that provides all the evidence. It mentions how initially the archeologists who were academically raised on the “noble peaceful savage” myth were shocked at all the evidence of warfare, savagery, cannibalism, etc. The had to adjust their attitudes to the evidence.
One thing all cultures do indeed share is how to be crappy to each other!
Thanks BenLurkin.
Early Bluetooth?
But if you point this out some people on this site will react in horror.
Not my ancestors they cry.
Yep. Yours. And not that much before those people.
And one thing Bronze Age cultures share is human sacrifice.
***SPOILER ALERT***
The scene at the end of the chase that shows the Spanish ships arriving, and the looks on the natives faces always gets me. Their whole world was about to change.
Maya rain god?
So some “advanced cultures” back then believed in climate change?
And they believed that killing people was the best way to solve it?
Hmmm ....🤔. That seems like something I have heard before.
Was that photo made on Chicago’s south side?
The subtitles give a Headache but the good Guy Wins !!!
thnaks, im checking it out now- looks liek a good one-
Good observation that children were And are a commodity to be exploited.
.
Human nature at it’s Worst.
It was one of the most original movies ever made. If Gibson wasn’t a Christian, it would have won major awards. The cinematography, cast and acting was outstanding.
That said I thought it was really a movie about the source of human sacrifice both ancient and modern because of the chosen imagery. And also what stops that evil; the coming of the cross.
Isn’t that the truth. What human sacrifice, mass murder and cannibalism in Europe!?
Yup, in Europe. Why is anyone surprised?
Darn it, I was thinking Floss...
