Some women carry cute little pink canisters on keychains, bought at the Walmart checkout line, or wherever. That stuff is next to worthless.
J frame .38 is pretty small.
Even 16 oz. strapped to your hip is going to bounce enough to be uncomfortable during a jog.
I still think it’s hilarious Costco was selling Jogger Fogger. They clearly aren’t familiar with the colloquial use of “jogger” after events of 2020.
A fanny pack or waist pack should easily handle that. Plus you need to be aware of your surroundings at all times when out like that. You have to notice “things” going on around you.
Memphis has been a craphole for years.
I ran for over 4 decades and carried 99 percent of the time.
Where there is a need and a will there are ways.

She’s going to have to find a different place to jog. Maybe Hernando, Mississippi.

I had an OTR workout routine I did when stopped at a truck stop after a long day, before getting a shower. Though tired I would do various stationary exercises, then do sprints. Nearly every truck lot has a slope of some sort. I would do approx 100 yard sprints for maybe 20 minutes running upslope.
One 2008 fall afternoon (age 54), at a TA stop that had practically no slope, I had finished one of the sprints, and a truck leaving stopped by me. The driver said: “Mister, you are fast!”
I laughed and said, “I hate jogging, so I try to get it over with as fast as I can”.
He laughed, but then said, “Seriously, my son is a sprinter in high school. I’ve watched him compete for several years. Mister, you are fast!”
I thought about entering a senior olymics, but never did. You see, I never started the sprint explosively. Didn’t want to risk a pulled muscle. But I did indeed hate jogging.
That’s pretty cool. I’m going to compete in Masters Track & Field in 2 years time.
Either 100m & 200m or 200m & 400m based upon bodyweight then.

My nearly 7 yr old grandson makes me sprint nowadays when playing 1 on 1 touch football. His other grandpa was Qb of the Tide in 79, when Bryant’s teams ran a LOT. Bear was quoted as saying Shealy “is quicker than a hickup”.
The grandson is very quick for his age.

Permit me to add something to my post #22. Police grade pepper spray is legal in all 50 states. But some states have a limitation on the size of the container. Be sure to do a search for the current law in your state.
