One of my son’s closest friends went off the New River Gorge bridge in WV. One of my good friends went off the New River trail bridge. He ran on that trail all the time.
I wondered if he was looking at being deported.
As easy as it is to get Fentanyl, if I wanted to off myself, that’s the way to go. Why risk feeling all that pain at the end, assuming the attempt actually kills you?
My wife was dispatching when a 911 call arrived. It was a windy day and the caller on a cellphone was walking when he called. He told my wife he was going to end his life in a few minutes. She asked for his location and if there was anything she could do. He said, "send an ambulance". My wife quickly geolocated his phone to a nearby freeway bridge. She had his phone number. She tried call back. No answer. She dispatched 2 officers and an ambulance. The 300 lb man jumped off the bridge at the "diverging diamond" where Yellowstone Avenue crosses I-86 near Pocatello. The officers arrived in time to block traffic so he wouldn't get run over. He survived and was taken to the hospital. He did land on his face, so lots of surgery ahead to rebuild. It took a replay of the recorded 911 call to pick out his intent to kill himself and where. Fortunately, my wife picked up enough cues to get help there ASAP before reviewing the 911 recording.
There is a Denny's about 100 ft from where the guy jumped off. My wife had to deal with another suicide just outside of the window at Denny's. A 19 year old had robbed a woman at gun point and was making an escape on foot. When confronted by her officers, there was an attempt to de-escalate. It didn't work. The guy shot himself in the head with his 44 magnum revolver. The round went into the top of the adjacent window and into the restaurant. Lots of brains and blood to clean off the side of the building. The window is still taped over where the bullet entered.

My experience was a long time ago. I was very young and did not know him very well.
Did he have the Tucker tapes?.
Google must have the Japanese-type of work requirements. Soon they may have to install the same type of suicide nets to stop the increase in company suicide jumpers.
