I made two 'Boho Backpack Bags' as gifts. This one was for my niece … she wanted to visit some botanical gardens/zoos & I figured this would be great for her wallet, drink bottle, anything else she wanted to take … her hands would be free for her camera.
Lacy V Tote – I made at least 8 of these. Two modifications: the pattern handles/straps were very stretchy because they were just rows of single crochet – I made them a lot sturdier & less stretchy; where the straps attach, I added button embellishments.
Handbags … fell in love with this one (lots of 'texture', great size) & made it for a wedding. The darn thing drove me crazy because the handle was too small to hang the bag on anything – it was in my lap the whole time I was eating. I made two more to match dresses I was wearing & I came up with a shoulder strap – the strap folds down into the bag if you just want a 'hand' bag …. the strap was a huge improvement, IMO. I also made one for a friend in the color “Birchwood Cottage”. To my surprise, she entered it in a county fair & it got a 2nd place in the category where it was entered!
Color: Birchwood Cottage
Color: Berry
This is the ponch mom wore yesterday & the neckline needs to be tightened up. This is a gorgeous small poncho, picture doesn't do it justice. The color is a deep red.
Lovely bags & poncho. Thanks for sharing the photos!
Ok I’ll take some pictures just for you. Will probably cut into it tomorrow.
Beautiful items and pictures!!!!
LOL! I HATE IT when that happens. :)
Beautiful bags, Q. Love the poncho, too. :)
LOL! Funny, but not sure I could deal with one of those on a regular basis 😬
45 Times A Mother Refashioned Clothes
This is the woman I mentioned who re-fashions used clothing for herself and her daughters:

Gross! Hubby would enjoy smashing with a sledge.
WOW, loved that thanks. What a find. Creative and highly skilled. Somewhere I think I have a link with pics of little girls dresses made from embroidered tablecloths. I’ll look for it. Working on my dress today, I did take before pictures.
The T-Rex (aka: Rusty Rex) was my first sculpture, back in 98. It was a short one page story in the August 99 issue of National Geographic. My mom had sent them pics and news clips from the Quad City Times (Davenport, IA). Summer 2000, I loaned it to Niabi Zoo, near Moline, IL. Not wanting it to leave, they bought it after a zoo board meeting.
They wanted a Triceratops. But when I told them it would cost more because it is actually more complex, with four big legs, and the more difficult skull. So we reached a conpromise: half price for half a sculpture. I drew it up leaning to the right a bit, and explained it could indicate the critter got stuck in mud, drowned, and silted in over time. They said fine, build it. During delivery I stopped at the local township gravel stockpile, and set it out for a quick pic. (I nick-named it 'Three-Pete'.)
The Pteranodon (Glidin Clyde; 23' wingspan) was built (in 01) to take to shows, and of course sell; which I did the summer of 07. It now overlooks the Columbia River, near Wenatchee, WA. Puchased by a prosperous individual.
The Velociraptor ('Slash') was built in 01, and is the 7th of 8 raptors I made; and is the only one I still have. All 8 were in different poses.
Before doing those projects I had made my own minibikes (2) and an off road 3 wheeler before age 18, and through the years a few pieces of my farm equipment.
Very impressive!
That was the cover photo of Pioneer Women, Voices from the Kansas Frontier, an interesting read.
IIRC based on letters her great-grandmother had written and saved.
Well worth the time, free at most libraries, and cheap used.

I’m totally impressed!! Just — no words!
‘Face
;o]
Those are fantastic! I have two dino-crazy great nieces ... if they saw the sculptures, they would want one of each ... I will show them the pics anyway 😄!
I love them all, but the staging of the Triceratops as a ‘find’ is awesome. :)
Mark!
Impressive sculptures!
